If you have not yet noticed it, I have changed my username. carettaemeraldserpent no longer exists and [info]caretta has taken her place.

For those that want to know, [info]caretta does have a story behind her. My Native American name is Quiet Turtle. Caretta caretta is the scientific name of a certain species of sea turtle, which also happens to be both one of my power animals and my animagus. "Caretta" is a latinized form of the French "caret" for turtle. So I am no longer a serpent; now I am a turtle!

Farewell, beloved name, farewell. I will miss you.

new fandom alias

I have a new fandom alias. No, I can't help it. I have problems with making decisions and sticking with them. n_n... On that note, I might be looking for a new title to A Bittersweet Romance, formerly known as The Truth Revealed. The first step is admitting that you have a problem... Does anyone know the second?

Why did I choose Castalia Damara Eurynome for my new fandom alias?:
Castalia: The childlike Greek goddess of artistic inspiration. She was seen as so intense that Greek art depicted her as an ever-flowing fountain from whom anyone may drink when motivation and inspiration wanes.

Damara: An ancient British fertility goddess, linked deeply with the bringing in of May, as well as luck and health. She was symbolised by fresh flowers and garlands, part of the May celebrations. A good name for a fresh young witch.

Eurynome: This ancient Greek goddess began the dance of life at the beginning of time, and it was through her womb that all life began. She also oversees balance, especially that between males and females. An interesting name, especially appropriate for a Greek wizarding family.

All information acquired from the Mythical Reflections' page on Wizarding Names.

For those of you that want to know, here is a bit of background information on my nickname, Medi. Medi is a shortened form of Meditrania, which would be the name of my original character (and Mary Sue alter-ego), Meditrania Zircon. Meditrania is a misspelling of the Meditrina's name; for those that don't know, Meditrina is the Roman goddess of health, longevity, and wine. Medi does not rhyme with Jedi. It is pronounced Meh-dee. Meditrania is pronounced Meh-deh-tray-nee-uh.
